Week of 2/27

 

Congrats to our 2nd trimester Peacemaker, Max!

Dear Parents,

Can you believe it is March? This week we will finish up the story, "Let's Go to the Moon" and have our test on Friday. We will also start working with money and learn to identify and count coins. Please make sure you send your child in with coins so they can practice!

Here are the reminders for this week:

- If you did not send in coins with your child, please do so ASAP! (4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels and 25 pennies).

- Test folders will be sent home Tuesday. Please sign and return on Wednesday!

- There will be a Reading and Spelling test on Friday.

-Leprechaun trap information was sent home last week! Google has some great example of traps! Students are asked to bring the traps in on Friday, 3/17! Please do not send in before because we have limited space in the classroom! If you have any questions please let me know! Happy building!

We will begin our unit on money this week! We will learn to identify the coins and how much they are worth and practice counting. If you practice at home remember to start counting with the coins and that are worth the most!

Week of 2/20

We have had so much fun learning about the solar system in science!

We got to celebrate Baby Hallinan Tuesday afternoon, and it was the best
celebration!

Thank you for all the gifts and most importantly, the books!

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! Can you believe we celebrated our 100th day of school last week?! This year is just flying by. This week we will start our next unit in reading. A new Reader's Notebook will be going home for homework for this week. Here are the rest of the reminders:

- We will start a new unit in reading! A new Reader's Notebook will be sent home today.

- We will have a test in math on Friday on double digit addition and subtraction (no regrouping) and math facts with sums to 20. A review sheet will be sent home as homework on Thursday.

- We will take the Religion test on Chapter 11 on Friday together as a class. 

- We will be starting our unit on money next week. If you could send in a ziplock bag labeled with your child's name with 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels and 25 pennies that would be really helpful! Thank you!

- Information about the first grade tradition of building leprechaun traps will be sent home this week! Please be on the look out for more information!

We will finish up the last story in our reader this week! We will start a new unit and get a new workbook next week. We will also be starting a new math unit this week and practice adding and subtracting sums and differences under 20. Here are the rest of your reminders for the week:

- Dress down day on Tuesday! Please bring in $1.00 to dress down.

- Tomorrow is our Valentine's Day class party! Please make sure to send in Valentine's with your child if you have not already.

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

We had a great time during Catholic School Week! Thank you for all of your donations! You can check out some pictures below from the week. Here are the reminders for this week:

- There will be a math test on skip counting and even and odd numbers on Thursday.

- There will be Religion test on Chapter 10 on Friday. A study guide will be sent home today.

- We will have an Eagles dress down on Friday to cheer them on for the Super Bowl!

- Thursday March 9th will be my last day with the kiddos:( There is no school on Friday March 10th because of a faculty in-service day. The 3rd trimester will begin on Monday March 13th and that is when Tracy Barausky will start!

Valentine's Day info:

- please have all valentines sent to school no later than Monday, February 13th. We will be decorating bags for the valentines! There are 18 students in our class!

- Please no candy is permitted
