Week of 11/28

In science, we learned about the different kinds of light.
We had fun with this experiment!

Last week, we lined the hallways and cheered on the third grade
as they paraded Balloons on Broadway project. 

The balloons were fabulous!

Thank you to all those who contributed to the
class Thanksgiving party! The kids had a blast:)

It was a great way to get ready for the holiday break!

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. This week we will start our second reading unit and start learning long vowels, we will also start a new math unit on place value and begin to practice for the Christmas Concert which will be held next week! Here are the rest of your reminders:

- The first trimester ends this Friday. Report cards will sent home on Tuesday, 12/13.

- Wednesday will be a dress down day to help fund the tree lighting. If your child would like to dress down please send in $5.00 on Wednesday.

- The tree lighting will be on Wednesday night from 6-8 pm! All are welcome!

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 5 on Thursday. A study guide will be sent home today.

-Next Tuesday, 12/6 at 7:00 pm will be the K-4 Christmas Concert! The students are to wear their Christmas best!

Week of 11/14

Congrats to Andrea, our first peacemaker of the year!

            A big thanks for Charley L's Dad for coming in and teaching us about Veterans Day!

On Friday, the kids had a visit from an author. They loved
to ask questions about the book writing process!

Dear Parents,

We had another great week last week and will keep going strong into the holiday season. This week we will have our last reading and spelling test for our first unit and also will have a math test on fact families. 

Here are the rest of the reminders for the week:

- We have our first field trip on Wednesday to see the Wizard of Oz at Carroll High School! The kids can wear their gym uniforms to school. We will eat lunch a little later when we return to school. If you have not filled out the permission form or paid please do so ASAP! You can find the link HERE

- IXL and Kids A-Z logins were sent home last week! If you have any trouble logging in please let me know!

- Test folders will be sent home on Tuesday. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a math test on fact families and mixed addition and subtraction on Thursday. We will be reviewing all week.

- There will be a reading and spelling test on Friday this week.

Week of 11/7

Last week, we worked with our 8th grade buddies
to write cards to the troops.

Dear Parents,

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to meet with me for conferences. Communication between the teacher and parents is crucial to the success of your child and I appreciate you giving up your time.
The kids have already grown so much since September and it is exciting to see their reading skills develop and grow. We will start learning long vowel patterns after we finish this story and start our second reading unit! There are lots of pictures this week from the Saints Celebration and Halloween so be sure to check them out! Here are your reminders for the week:

- Thanks for all of the donations for the troops! We collected 5 boxes of supplies to send over and the kids made cards with their buddies to send too! Thanks to Mrs. Chott for the idea and for helping organize this!

- Our Monthly Mass for November will be on Tuesday at 9:00 am. All are welcome!

- Chapter 4 Religion test will be on Friday. A study guide will be sent home today.

- The link to the permission form and payment for our field trip next week can be found HERE

- Your child's login information to IXL and Kids A-Z will be sent home this week! The kids have used them in school and should know how to use them at home! If you have any trouble please let me know!
