Week of 2/22

Congrats to Elle for being our class Peacemaker for the 2nd trimester!

Last week we celebrated Harry's 7th Birthday!

Dear Parents,

Let's hope that we can get a full week of school in! Thank you again, for being so flexible with the virtual school. I really am impressed and proud of the kids during these days. I know it is not the easiest for them or you, but they are always prepared and I really appreciate it! Here are the reminders for the week:

- We will start a new unit in reading! A new Reader's Notebook will be sent home today.

- We will start doing Stations of the Cross this week and learn about what Lent is all about.

- We will have a test in math on Friday on double digit addition and subtraction (no regrouping) and math facts with sums to 20. A review sheet will be sent home as homework on Thursday.

- Picture retakes are this Wednesday. Please send in the old pictures and have your child wear their winter uniform to school! Thanks!

- For the next few weeks we will also be preparing and reviewing for the Terra Nova test which will be taken the week of March 15th.

- Be on the look out this week for some information on Leprechaun Traps! We will be building them in school during the week of March 15th! The kids just need to collect supplies at home and bring them in that week. The information will give you plenty of ideas!

Dear Parents,

I hope you had nice long weekend! We had a great Catholic Schools Week and lots of fun at our Valentine's Day party! Unfortunately, there is more snow in the forecast so please be prepared for virtual school on Thursday. The kids will be sent home with everything they need. Here are the reminders for this week:

- Ash Wednesday is this week. Please join us for virtual Mass at 9:00. *All virtual students may sign on at 10:30 this day.

-Test folders will be sent home Wednesday 2/17.

- There will be a reading and spelling test on Friday. Please be sure to study sight and spelling words. This is the last story in Unit 3!

Tuesday 

- Crazy 8s Day! Students can accessorize their UNIFORM with 8 crazy items such as socks, hats, sunglasses, jewelry etc.

- Frankie will be representing our class in the K-4 Spelling Bee! Go Frankie!

Wednesday

- wear your gym uniform to school or your SKS Blue Ribbon shirt!

- We will have a socially distanced class dance party in the gym!

- We will have a math test on skip counting and odd and even numbers.

Thursday

- Wear your pajamas or pink and red to school for our Valentine's Day party! 

-Thursday 2/11 is Picture Retake Day * If you are getting picture retakes, please wear your school uniform and bring your envelope.

- We will also have a Virtual Career day and watch the Virtual Talent Show!

Friday

Asynchronous day! Please complete the work sent from your teacher. FRIDAY IS NOW AN OFFICIAL DAY OFF FOR SKS. THERE WILL BE NO ASYNCHRONOUS ACTIVITIES!

Week of 2/1

Last week we started our "Space" unit in Science! The kids were very excited

and had lots of questions. We will continue working on this unit for the next 

couple of weeks.

On Friday, Room 4 participated in a "long o" word hunt around the room! The kids 

walked around in search of pictures and had to determine what long o letters completed the word.

They loved getting up and moving!

Dear Parents,

It was nice to have a full week last week, especially with the snow storm this week! Hopefully we will be back in school tomorrow! I am still planning on having the reading and spelling this week, so please keep studying at home. Here are your important reminders for the week:

- Valentine's Day info:

- please have all valentines sent to school no later than Friday, February 5th. No candy is permitted.

- wear your pajamas or dress down in red and pink for our party on Thursday, February 11th.

- Test folders will be sent home on Wednesday. Please sign and return on Thursday.

- There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday this week.

- Some special Catholic Schools Week notes:
